Kevin Forster, Chief Financial Officer

As CFO of Spitfire, Kevin is responsible for all financial operations and management, including complete, accurate and timely financial reporting and overseeing corporate accounting functions. He manages all budgeting and forecasting, as well as financial statement preparation and compliance. Kevin identifies opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency, and has extensive experience managing financial operations on a national and international basis.

Kevin works closely with Spitfire’s project leads to provide timely, accurate billing and financial reporting to clients. He strives to improve financial processes to help Spitfire’s communications staff provide excellent service to our valued clients. He helps translate financial information and systems to non-financial staff, and provides strategic and tactical advice and counsel to Spitfire’s chief operating officer and its president.

Starting in the IT industry as SRA International’s commercial pricing manager, then as deputy program manager for business strategy and planning, Kevin provided financial mentoring and counsel to a creative manager who leveraged a single professional services project in 1997 into a thriving program that became an independent company, Mantas, in 2001. Under his leadership in financial planning and operations, Mantas revenues grew four-fold from 2001 to 2006, culminating with the sale of the company to Oracle in 2006 for $127 million in cash. Mantas software is used by financial services firms to identify, investigate and prosecute financial criminals who engage in money laundering, terrorist funding and illegal market trading activities.

Kevin has a deep understanding of the challenges of a growing business, and has extensive experience in the finance and accounting operations of professional services businesses. As finance manager for SRA’s Commercial Sector from 1999 to 2001, he managed a staff of operations analysts and billing specialists to run a profitable professional services business with $35 million in revenues. At Mantas, the majority of revenue was generated from professional services as the business grew from a small solutions-based firm to an enterprise software company that led the financial services compliance market.

Kevin is excited to apply his experience in providing financial leadership to successful entrepreneurial businesses for an outstanding firm that makes an important contribution to society and promotes positive social change. He truly believes in the goals of our clients. Kevin is proud to be working with brilliant, creative and dedicated professionals who work hard every day to provide the highest-quality, cost-effective strategic communications for these causes.

Kevin was raised in northern New Jersey, and is an avid supporter of sports teams of Rutgers University, his alma mater. Some of his favorite charities include the Humane Society and Kiva – loans that change lives.
